I knew Rick was helping a friend today so mailed Ken but by 9 30 I got that itch so I took off and sure enough a quick FTF ... back home and check my mails ( which I should have done before I headed home ) anyway got home to find out that ken had mailed me and he just got in from blood work and was headed out to get Blue rocks which was just down road from him ... I was almost there earlier ahhahahha hopefully we both grab a FTF today --- nice sunny morning for a drive --- talk later Chris

Yeah, by the time the eight new caches were published last night I was several hours into a fast for the purposes of blood work. There was no turning back. I had to stay the course. Water for a bedtime snack. Water for breakfast. By the time I got Chris' e-mails when I got home from my visit with the human leeches this morning I was hungry enough to gnaw off somebody's arm. Unfortunately, I was home alone and being attached to both of my arms I decided to spare Chris' arms and stay home and have some oatmeal.
ReplyDeletePost oatmeal, I had a look at the caches that were published last night. Hmmm, there's one just 1.2 km west of me. So I texted Chris to see if he was still in the area, waited a few minutes without hearing from him, so I headed out for GC2NRJ1.
As I said in my DNF log, my GPSr showed me that GZ was under the huge pile of ice and snow plowed up from the street. But my head led me to two spots that looked promising in view of the hint, one was 24 meters off GZ, the other 31 meters. Although I looked in both spots and around the area in general I wasn't able to spot it. Some days you've got it, other days you don't. Today was one of those other days for me!
I have put a watch on the listing - if I was a betting man I would wager that it will be found by dusk!
