Well, we were away from home by 7:30 AM today. The day started out well, but the weather soon went downhill. It was 9° when we left home and in Salisbury NB it was 0°. And as hard as it may be to believe, between Salisbury and Sussex it went up to 10°! The mirrors and windows fogged up as we drove along the highway! We drove through rain showers and outright downpours until we arrived in Bangor around 3:30.
I had run a PQ for Caches Along a Route, Route 9, the "Airline Route" - Calais to Bangor - but there were so many high snow banks, side roads covered in glare ice and guard rails buried in snow that I didn't even get out of the Jeep! We did, however, stop at several stores once we were in Bangor....
We went to Olive Garden across the street from our hotel for an early dinner and by the time we came out an hour later it was snowing - and it's as cold as Greenland here.
We will go on to South Portland, where our hockey game and concert are on Tuesday & Wednesday nights, as soon as the roads clear in the morning. We will be stopping at the Delorme World HQ in Yarmouth, Maine, tomorrow so I can grab a virtual cache located there. I was within 3 meters of it when we were here last October but I didn't know about the virtual at that time. :-((

Not the best caching conditions. Stay safe and enjoy.
ReplyDeleteHad some cachers visiting the area from NB find some of my caches lately, in the logs they stated it was the first caching they did all winter as there was just too much snow where they live.
Hey Ken .... just enjoy being away and in some different places and time with just the two of you -- Enjoy your two venues and I am sure you will find a cache or two somewhere --the seeker always does hahhahahahha .... be safe Buddy ...
